CT Weather offers free email notification service is provided to you by the Connecticut Weather Center, Inc. to enable you to receive notification when weather related cancellations, announcements, or other notifications have been posted by any of the participating educational institutions, libraries, organizations, and businesses. Lisbon Central School, as well as the majority of school districts throughout the state, participates in using the CT Weather Center for posting weather and non-weather related essential announcements.

The auto attendant on our telephone system at Lisbon Central School will also provide accurate dismissal or late opening information. At times, the weather conditions may indicate the need to delay the start of school rather than close for the entire school day. In such cases, delayed opening announcements will be made on the above stations by 6:30 A.M. In most cases of delayed opening, school will begin one hour later than usual. Please note that all school transportation will be delayed the same amount of time as the school delay (i.e. one hour school delay = one hour bus delay). If it becomes necessary to delay the starting time by more than one hour, morning Pre-K and kindergarten classes will be canceled. It is sometimes necessary to close schools earlier than usual because of emergency situations such as storms, loss of heat, etc. Parents should discuss this possibility with their children and make contingency plans for younger children to enter their homes or go to a neighborhood if no one is at home. In case of an early closing, the above stations will make announcements regarding times that students will be dismissed.
